🪐 Astronomy / Cosmology
5 ConnectionsOn (non-)dynamical dark energy
🪐 Astronomy / CosmologyThe current Universe is composed by a mixture of relativistic species, baryonic matter, dark matter and dark energy which evolve in a non-trivial way at perturbative level. An advanced description of the cosmological dynamics should include non-standard features beyond the simplistic approach idealized by the standard cosmology in which cosmic components do not interact, are adiabatic and dissipationless. We promote a full perturbative analysis of linear scalar perturbations of a non-interacting

On the absence of a universal surface density, and a maximum Newtonian acceleration in dark matter haloes: consequences for MOND
🪐 Astronomy / CosmologyWe study the dark matter (DM) surface density using the SPARC sample and {compare} it to Donato et al. (2009) result. By means of MCMC method, we infer the best-fitting parameters for each galaxy. We reobtain the scaling relation between the surface density and luminosity, and several other scaling laws relating the dark matter halo properties to that of the galactic disc properties. We conclude, in contrast with Donato et al. \cite{Donato}, that the dark matter surface density is not a universa

🍼 EmbryologyBy defining the current limits (and thereby the frontiers), many boundaries are shaping, and will continue to shape, the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We push on these boundaries in order to make further progress into what were yesterday's frontiers. They are both pliable and resilient - always creating new boundaries of what AI can (or should) achieve. Among these are technical boundaries (such as processing capacity), psychological boundaries (such as human trust in AI systems), ethi

Astrotourism for Development: An Overview of Resources from the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development
🍼 EmbryologyAstrotourism has emerged as a powerful cross sectoral tool to promote science education, sustainable economic development, and cultural exchange. Recognising its potential, the International Astronomical Union's Office of Astronomy for Development (IAU OAD) has developed a suite of openly accessible resources to support individuals and institutions interested in implementing astrotourism initiatives globally. These resources also encourage individuals and existing businesses to broaden their off

Advanced Data Protection Control (ADPC): An Interdisciplinary Overview
🍼 EmbryologyThe Advanced Data Protection Control (ADPC) is a technical specification - and a set of sociotechnical mechanisms surrounding it - that can change the current practice of Internet-based personal data protection and consenting by providing novel and standardized means for the communication of privacy and consenting data, meta-data, information, requests, preferences, and decisions. The ADPC supports humans in practicing their rights to privacy and agency by giving them more human-centric control
