Surah Al-Kahf • Ayah 52

Their Partners are not able to respond and the Criminals are brought to the FireAllah tells us how He will address the idolators on the Day of Resurrection before all of creation, rebuking and scolding them,نَادُواْ شُرَكَآئِىَ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ(Call those (so-called) partners of Mine whom you claimed.) meaning, in the world. Call them today to save you from the situation you are in! Allah says:وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَادَى كَمَا خَلَقْنَـكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَتَرَكْتُمْ مَّا خَوَّلْنَـكُمْ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِكُمْ وَمَا نَرَى مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَآءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيكُمْ شُرَكَآءُ لَقَد تَّقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنكُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ (And truly, you have come unto Us alone as We created you the first time. You have left what you were given behind your backs and We do see not with you your intercessors whom you claimed were your partners. Now all relations between you and them have been cut off, and all that you used to claim has vanished from you.) 6:94فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَهُمْ(Then they will cry unto them, but they will not answer them.) As Allah says:وَقِيلَ ادْعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَهُمْ(And it will be said (to them): "Call upon those partners of yours," then they will call upon them, but they will not answer them.) 28: 64 And the Ayah:وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَن لاَّ يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ(And who is more astray than one who calls others besides Allah, such as will not answer him) 46:5 Until the end of the two Ayat;وَاتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ ءالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمْ عِزّاً كَلاَّ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَـدَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدّاً (And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they may grant them honor. Nay, but they will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them.) 19:81-82وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّوْبِقاً(and We shall put Mawbiq between them.) Ibn `Abbas, Qatadah and others said: "Destruction." The meaning is that Allah is stating that these idolators will have no way of reaching the gods they claimed in this world. He will separate them in the Hereafter and neither party will have any means of reaching the other. There will be devastation, great horrors and other terrible things in between them. `Abdullah bin `Amr understood the pronoun in the phrase "between them" to refer to the believers and the disbelievers, meaning that the people of guidance and the people of misguidance will be separated. This then is like the Ayat:وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ (And on the Day when the Hour will be established -- that Day shall (all men) be separated. ) 30:14يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ(On that Day men shall be divided.) 30:43,وَامْتَازُواْ الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ((It will be said), "And O you the criminals! Get you apart this Day (from the believers).) 36:59وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ(And on the Day when We shall gather them all together, then We shall say to those who joined partners, "Stop in your place! You and your partners." Then We shall separate between them...) until,وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ(And what they invented will vanish from them.) 10:28-30وَرَأَى الْمُجْرِمُونَ النَّارَ فَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ مُّوَاقِعُوهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُواْ عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا (And the criminals shall see the Fire and apprehend that they are to fall therein. And they will find no way of escape from it.) meaning when they see Hell with their own eyes, since it is being dragged forth by seventy thousand reins, each pulled by seventy thousand angels. When,وَرَأَى الْمُجْرِمُونَ النَّارَ(the criminals shall see the Fire), they will realize that they cannot escape being thrown into it, and that will only intesify their anxiety and distress, because the anticipation and fear of punishment is in itself a real punishment.وَلَمْ يَجِدُواْ عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا(And they will find no way of escape from it.) means, they will have no way of fleeing, it will be inevitable.

مشرک قیامت کو شرمندہ ہوں گے ٭٭تمام مشرکوں کو قیامت کے دن شرمندہ کرنے کے لیے سب کے سامنے کہا جائے گا کہ اپنے شریکوں کو پکارو جنہیں تم دنیا میں پکارتے رہے تاکہ وہ تمہیں آج کے دن کی مصیبت سے بچا لیں، وہ پکاریں گے لیکن کہیں سے کوئی جواب نہ پائیں گے۔ جیسے اور آیت میں ہے «وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُوْنَا فُرَادٰي كَمَا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّتَرَكْتُمْ مَّا خَوَّلْنٰكُمْ وَرَاءَ ظُهُوْرِكُمْ» [ 6- الانعام: 94 ] ‏ ‏ الخ، ہم تمہیں اسی طرح تنہا تنہا لائے جیسے کہ ہم نے تمہیں اول بار پیدا کیا تھا اور جو کچھ ہم نے تمہیں دنیا میں دے رکھا تھا، تم وہ سب اپنے پیچھے چھوڑ آئے۔ آج تو ہم تمہارے ساتھ تمہارے ان شریکوں میں سے کسی ایک کو بھی نہیں دیکھتے جنہیں تم شریک الٰہی ٹھہرائے ہوئے تھے اور جن کی شفاعت کا یقین کئے ہوئے تھے۔ تمہارے اور ان کے درمیان میں تعلقات ٹوٹ گئے اور تمہارے گمان باطل ثابت ہو چکے۔ اور آیت میں ہے «وَقِيْلَ ادْعُوْا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَهُمْ وَرَاَوُا الْعَذَابَ لَوْ اَنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا يَهْتَدُوْنَ» [ 28- القص: 64 ] ‏ ‏ کہا جائے گا کہ اپنے شریکوں کو پکارو، یہ پکاریں گے لیکن وہ جواب نہ دیں گے الخ۔ اسی مضمون کو آیت «وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّـهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَ وَإِذَا حُشِرَ النَّاسُ كَانُوا لَهُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَكَانُوا بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كَافِرِينَ» [ 46-الأحقاف: 5، 6 ] ‏ ‏ تک بیان فرمایا ہے۔صفحہ نمبر4923سورۃ مریم میں ارشاد ہے کہ «وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّـهِ آلِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا كَلَّا سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا» [ 19-مریم: 81، 82 ] ‏ انہوں نے اپنی عزت کے لیے اللہ کے سوا اور بہت معبود بنا رکھے ہیں لیکن ایسا ہرگز نہیں ہو گا، وہ تو سب ان کی عبادت کے منکر ہو جائیں گے اور الٹے ان کے دشمن بن جائیں گے۔ ان میں اور ان کے معبودان باطل میں ہم آڑ، حجاب اور ہلاکت کا گڑھا بنا دیں گے تاکہ یہ ان سے اور وہ ان سے نہ مل سکیں۔ نیک راہ اور گمراہ الگ الگ رہیں، جہنم کی یہ وادی انہیں آپس میں ملنے نہ دے گی۔ کہتے ہیں یہ وادی لہو اور پیپ کی ہو گی، ان میں آپس میں اس دن دشمنی ہو جائے گی۔ بہ ظاہر معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ مراد اس سے ہلاکت ہے اور یہ بھی ہو سکتا ہے کہ جہنم کی کوئی وادی بھی ہو یا اور کوئی فاصلے کی وادی ہو۔ مقصود یہ ہے کہ ان عابدوں کو وہ معبود جواب تک نہ دیں گے، نہ یہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے مل سکیں گے۔ کیونکہ ان کے درمیان ہلاکت ہو گی اور ہولناک امور ہوں گے۔ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا ہے، مراد یہ ہے کہ مشرکوں اور مسلمانوں میں ہم آڑ کر دیں گے جیسے آیت «وَيَوْمَ تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّتَفَرَّقُوْنَ» [ 30- الروم: 14 ] ‏ ‏ اور آیت «فَاَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ للدِّيْنِ الْقَيِّمِ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهٗ مِنَ اللّٰهِ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّصَّدَّعُوْنَ» ‏ [ 30- الروم: 43 ] ‏ اور آیت «وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ اَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ» [ 36- يس: 59 ] ‏ ‏ الخ اور آیت «وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَاؤُكُمْ» [ 10-يونس: 28 ] ‏ ‏ الخ وغیرہ میں ہے۔ یہ گنہگار جہنم دیکھ لیں گے۔ ستر ہزار لگاموں میں وہ جکڑی ہوئی ہو گی، ہر ایک لگام پر ستر ستر ہزار فرشتے ہوں گے، دیکھتے ہی سمجھ لیں گے کہ ہمارا قیدخانہ یہی ہے۔ داخلے کے بغیر داخلے سے بھی زیادہ رنج و غم اور مصیبت والم شروع ہو جائے گا۔ عذاب کا یقین عذاب سے پہلے کا عذاب ہے لیکن کوئی چھٹکارے کی راہ نہ پائیں گے، کوئی نجات کی صورت نظر نہ آئے گی۔ حدیث میں ہے کہ پانچ ہزار سال تک کافر اسی تھر تھری میں رہے گا کہ جہنم اس کے سامنے اور اس کا کلیجہ قابو سے باہر ہے۔ [مسند احمد:75/3:حسن لغیرہ] ‏صفحہ نمبر4924

فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَّوْبِقًایہ شریک ٹھہرائی جانے والی شخصیات چاہے انبیاء ہوں اولیاء اللہ ہوں یا فرشتے روز قیامت ان کے اور انہیں شریک ماننے والوں کے درمیان ہلاکت خیز خلیج حائل کردی جائے گی تاکہ انہیں معلوم ہوجائے کہ وہ ان کی مدد کو نہیں آسکتے۔

CommentaryThe progeny of Iblis, and his descendants and followersThe word: ذُرِّ‌يَّتَهُ (dhurriyyatah) in verse 50 indicates that Iblis (Shaitan) has offspring, and a host of descendants and followers. Some commentators have said that 'progeny' at this place means 'accomplices.' That the Shaitan has offspring from his loins is not necessary. But, there is a Sahih Hadith which Humaidi has reported in Kitab al-Jam' bain al-Sahihain on the authority of Sayyidna Salman al-Farisi ؓ . According to his narration, the Holy Prophet ﷺ told him, "do not become like those who are the first to enter the bazaar (shopping centre), or those who are the last to leave it, for the bazaar is a place where the Shaitan has his eggs and offspring laid around." This would indicate that the progeny of Shaitan spreads out in that manner - through what is laid and hatched by him. After having presented this report, al-Qurtubi has said that the Shaitan has accomplices and armies is something established by conclusive proofs - and as for the Shaitan having offspring, a Sahih Hadith has appeared above.
