Surah Al-Isra • Ayah 75

How the Prophet would have been punished if He had given in at all to the Disbelievers' Demands that He change some of the RevelationAllah tells us how He supported His Prophet and protected him and kept him safe from the evil plots of the wicked transgressors. Allah is the One Who took care of him and helped him, and would not leave him to any of His creation. He is the One Who is His Helper, Supporter and Protector, the One Who is to help him achieve victory and make His religion prevail over those who resist him and oppose him and fight him in the east and in the west. May Allah send peace and blessings upon him until the Day of Judgement.

بابمکار و فجار کی چالاکیوں سے اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیشہ اپنے رسول کو بچاتا رہا، آپ کو معصوم اور ثابت قدم ہی رکھا، خود ہی آپ کا ولی و ناصر رہا، اپنی ہی حفاظت اور صیانت میں ہمیشہ آپ کو رکھا، آپ کی تائید اور نصرت برابر کرتا رہا، آپ کے دین کو دنیا کے تمام دینوں پر غالب کر دیا، آپ کے مخالفین کے بلند بانگ ارادوں کو پست کر دیا، مشرق سے مغرب تک آپ کا کلمہ پھیلا دیا، اسی کا بیان ان دونوں آیتوں میں ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ آپ پر قیامت تک بےشمار درود و سلام بھیجتا رہے۔ آمین۔صفحہ نمبر4752

آیت 75 اِذًا لَّاَذَقْنٰكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيٰوةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ اَلرَّبُّ رَبٌّ وَاِنْ تَنَزَّلَوَالْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ وَاِنْ تَرَقّٰی ”رب تو آخر رب ہے جتنا بھی تنزل فرما لے اور بندہ بہر حال بندہ ہی ہے جس قدر بھی ترقی پالے !“ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيْرًاآیت کا مضمون بہت نازک ہے۔ بہر حال میں نے الفاظ کے مطابق ترجمہ کرنے کی کوشش کی ہے لیکن موقع محل اور سیاق وسباق کی نزاکت کو دیکھتے ہوئے اصل مفہوم کو دقت نظری سے سمجھنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ اگرچہ یہ خطاب نبی اکرم سے ہے مگر سختی کا رخ ان لوگوں کی طرف ہے جنہوں نے اپنی ضد اور ہٹ دھرمی سے آپ کے مقابلے میں ایسے حالات پیدا کر رکھے تھے۔ ان الفاظ میں ان لوگوں کو سنایا جا رہا ہے کہ بد بختو ! تم جو چاہو کرلو ہمارے نبی تمہارے اس دباؤ میں آکر تمہارے مطالبات ماننے والے نہیں ہیں۔

After that, it was said: إِذًا لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ. It means: Supposing the impossible, if you would have come closer to tilting towards their wrong move, your punishment would have been double in life and double after death (in the grave or the Hereafter, because even an insignificant error made by those close to Allah is considered to be very grave). What has been said here is almost the same as was said about the blessed wives of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in Surah al-Ahzab: يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَاعَفْ لَهَا الْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ (0 wives of the Prophet, whoever of you should commit a clear act of immodesty, the punishment for her will be multiplied doubly - 33:30).
